Shown in bronze is Oregon’s beloved former Governor, Tom McCall. A dynamic politician, he was best known for passing the historical environmental protection bills that continue to keep Oregon clean and green.
The Tom McCall Memorial Committee, working with the Oregon Community Foundation made this monument possible. The bronze depicts McCall wading through the Umpqua River, a fresh caught steelhead in one hand and his fly rod in the other.
The sculpture is located along the bank of the Willamette River at Riverfront Park in Salem.
